I wrote two books about the Baileys.on SE Kentucky. One is a genealogical study from Edwarde Baillie in England 1529 through the Baileys in Clay, Harlan and Knox County, It contains all the newspaper articles, court records and oral histories that I could find regarding the Bailey White feud. The other is Bailey’s Blood, a fictional account of the many killings in the William Bailey Family. I’ve used all the copies of the former book but would send an E-copy to anyone who is interested. Nicholas Coonts was saved by the chief, kidnapped, taken to Nebreska and raised by the tribe. He later stole two horses and rode them into the ground escaping. He walked the last 100 miles to the St. Charles. It was written that the fort commander had to ransom him back from the tribe several times.
